Namikawa Yasuyuki (1845-1927)
This is the masterpiece of yusen and cloisonné enamels of black glaze ground color originated by Namikawa. Silver wires outlining trunks of minute design are thick and fine such as expression of painting by brush. Along with subtle gradation, the effect of the cherry blossom, maple leaves and bird design appearing from the darkness is characteristic.dated 1899 exhibited in Paris International Exposition in 1900 [the gold medal] cloisonné enamels D.25.0×H.36.0 |
