Visiting Sites Affected by Disaster

When a disaster occurs, Their Majesties visit the afflicted area to mourn the victims, encourage the afflicted people, and encourage the people conducting relief activities.

In April of 2011 as soon as it was possible to do so, the Emperor and Empress went to Miyagi Prefecture, one of the sites affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
